BEND PLANNER

Measure.
Mark. Bend.

All dimensions in inches

Founding Electrician Public Beta
Plan a bend, compare it with your actual tool, and record the field result. Calculations stay in this tab; entries are not saved when you leave. Copy your plan before closing.

01 · Your measurements

Start with your own measurements. The sample is a 6-inch, 30° offset and is clearly labeled as an example.

Use inches: 6.5, 6 1/2, 6-1/2 or 1/2. No feet notation.
Use positive inches, or 0 for no vertical change.
Use positive inches, or 0 for no sideways change.
Toward-obstruction layout, measured from the same starting end. Leave blank for spacing only.
Required for a stub-up. Confirm the exact bender, shoe and conduit size. No universal take-up is assumed.
Add the magnitude of every bend in this segment. Opposite turns do not cancel. An empty field is not treated as zero.

02 · Marks & bend order

Tape values are rounded to the nearest 1/16 inch; ≈ marks a rounded value. Use the unrounded math below when comparing results.

Bend order

    Math, measurement convention & sources

Trade-table multipliers and shrink factors: Greenlee Site-Rite hand-bender guide, page 9, Table 1 and Figure 7. Stub measurement and actual-tool take-up: Klein Tools Conduit Bender Guide, pages 2–3. Check the instructions for your specific tool.

The geometric model uses ideal centerline intersections, without bend radius, springback or a calibrated shoe. The 360° limit is this beta’s planning guard; it does not determine applicable code, pull-point validity or inspection acceptance.

03 · Compare the field result

Use the copied sheet to record your device, exact bender/shoe, conduit, measured result and anything that was unclear. Start with one setup on your device, then have another electrician try the same workflow. A calculated plan does not mark either check complete.
